I Want It NOW!

Lessons by Heart

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak,

And it will not lie.

Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come,

Waiting has never been my forte. Six drawn-out pregnancies have proven this. Nine months is a long enough time to wait for the gift you know is coming; however all six of my children were two weeks “late” by man’s calendar!

Packed and ready to go at the end of each pregnancy, I impatiently sat day by day, waiting…waiting.

In my impatience, I did some silly things to try and speed things along – including jogging! Nothing helped. They all arrived in God’s time – not mine.

A couple of decades later, I began to consider this “waiting” thing. I realized that much of our lives entails waiting.

We wait in lines at the store.

We wait for traffic lights,

And we wait for the weekend.

In the grand scheme of things,

We wait for our loved ones to come to the Lord.

We wait for life to improve;

And we wait…
